It happened to a bunch of people including myself. Except mine kept blowing the fuse for the windows/door locks/trunk/gas door. Pull the glove box off and check the harness.

If I have to, I'll just run new wires from the dimmer switch to the dash and A/C panel, but I want to know that the voltage is correct at the dimmer first. WebFeb 1, 2024 · Brake fuse randomly blows or works for 6 months. Turn signals work fine, so that should rule out wiring at the back half of the car. Dash lights must be on the same circuit as they go out when the fuse blows (that's how I know my brake lights are out). I'm thinking it's the fuse block since messing with the fuse can change what works...

Such problems can occur spontaneously due to dirt or moisture buildup, but it is far more common to find them in a place where some clod has been monkeying with the wiring.
