The game engine and mechanics are the same, minus all the crazy tech that exists in the modern titles. So you can get a good grasp of "basic" combat. When you choose a commander, all additional units clicked will be a part of that formation. You can also make other groups by hitting the button that looks like the wheel of a revolver. I could see myself enjoying very tiny battles in Graviteam say 1-4 tanks and a small section of infantry. It would appear larger battles it would be hard to keep track of things and it becomes a clickfest?

WebCombat mission is a pretty solid game. But as stated is turn based. You make order and then watch how they unfold. Gtos is realtime with pause with a command bar system, looks better than either of those and its maps are way larger. #3 [WG] Rayfer 15 … WebSD2 is definitely in a weird place in terms of the scale it portrays (nearly operational-level combat) and the tactical-level controls it expects. While slowing down or deploying in larger groups would probably help - it'd be even more interesting to just see units do things with more autonomy.
WebMay 23, 2024 · I think Eugen is going for more of a balanced gameplay experience as opposed to Battlefront's ostensible efforts to model a small unit tactics simulator. Combat Mission:Normandy is definitely better at carnage and might be better at more accurately modeling combat interactions, but SD:N is superior in every other aspect.
WebApr 7, 2024 · If you want a hardcore sim of WWII combat, go with Mius Front. But be forewarned, this game takes a real commitment from you as a player. Hours of play and watching vids just to figure out what is going on.
